What can serve as proof of the relationship?
To pass the verification and obtain marriage permission in Denmark, you need to provide one of the following proofs:
- Birth certificates of children together — documentary proof of common children, if any.
- Documents confirming cohabitation — this could include a residence registration, rental agreement, or joint accounts showing your cohabitation in the past or present.
- Travel and vacations together — tickets, receipts, vacation photos, and entry stamps in passports. This will help confirm that you are indeed spending time together.
- Joint bank account — the presence of joint financial resources, such as a shared account, can also be useful evidence.
- Working in the same company — if you work together in the same company or have joint employment relationships.
- Phone calls and correspondence — to confirm the duration of your relationship, screenshots from WhatsApp, Viber, Skype, or other messengers reflecting regular communication can be helpful.
- Joint photographs — old photos showing your relationship. If possible, photos with dates can help confirm the longevity of your relationship.
